A Visitor's Guide to Nokt: Personalities of Nokt: Kieran the Perturbed

Kieran the Perturbed (Wizard 28) is, arguably, the most powerful wizard in Nokt at this time, and has probably held that distinction since before the end of the Great Illithid War. Originally the owner of a small magic shop in Nokt, Kieran joined with the group that would become The Heroes of Nokt and, almost before he knew it, they had defeated the Illithid invaders and saved not only Nokt, but Ereland (and probably all of Lennotia as well).

The ironic thing is that Kieran could care less about all this. His sole driving ambition is the accumulation of power, for power’s sake. He loves the crackle of arcane energies, and desires nothing more than to have the ability to do… anything. Towards this goal, Kieran has learned to construct potent magic items, researched deadly and long-forgotten spells, and even created his own demi-plane hideaway.

Nobody knows what Kieran looks like, as he constantly wears an all-black Skin of the Defender which totally covers his face and body. His thoughts and emotions are concealed behind a Ring of Non-Detection, and he keeps no fewer than eight magic wands strapped to his forearm, held into place by the magic Skin he wears. Kieran’s most potent magic item to date, however, is his Darkstaff – named for the spell contained within, it allows Kieran to steal power, strength, and abilities from whatever foe he strikes, transferring it to himself.

An evil being at heart, Kieran cares little to nothing for those around him, though he does a marvelous job of convincing others to the contrary. Anyone who can be a means to his end goal of more power can expect to be used and thrown away – or destroyed – when their usefulness is at an end.
