A Visitor's Guide to Nokt: Personalities of Nokt: Burok Torn

On the surface, Burok Torn is a successful if mediocre merchant who has a small shop in Old Town, dealing with exotic furs and other such items. His shop (called “The Skins Emporium”) is a cramped, two storey affair built entirely of brick, and located just a block from The Central Market. It is well-stocked with various skins, furs, tanning supplies, and the items you can make from them.

The reality of the situation, though, is completely different – Burok is one of the top smugglers in and around Nokt, has extensive reserves of cash, and has contacts at just about every level in the entire city. His small shop is just a front, doing very little actual business and, instead, functioning as a discrete way for Burok’s patrons to place orders with the smuggler. He deals in virtually any commodity one could desire, though he seems to specialize in the trafficking of people who need to be moved quickly, silently, and without notice – both in and out of Nokt.
