A Visitor's Guide to Nokt: Outside of Nokt: Ereland Gypsies

Ereland is home to many bands of gypsy-folk, most of whom are content to simply roam the untamed lands, living from camp to camp by their wits and skills. Though they are no more trustworthy than a stereotypical Gypsy of Earth, Ereland’s Gypsies have a strict code of honor that they adhere to, regardless of the circumstances. Once their word is given on something, nothing can force that Gypsy to go back on his word (unless he was lied to in the first place!). They feel no remorse when tricking a non-Gypsy out of his or her money, possessions, land or what have you – yet you will never find a Gypsy stealing from another Gypsy.

A typical Gypsy spends his evenings in camp, drinking, singing and dancing. During the day, they are either traveling or working some scam, trying to bring money to their camp so they can continue their lifestyle...

A band of Gypsies will rarely be in the same place for more than a week before moving on. There is a joke amongst the Gypsies that states “Any camp more than two weeks old is a town.” It is meant as an insult to those that stay in one place too long.
