A Visitor's Guide to Nokt: Old Town: The Main Gates

Mayor’s Gate
Market Gate
Wizard’s Gate

These gates are the three entry points for all foot traffic entering Old Town Nokt. These squat, powerful gates are manned at all times by ten guards, hand-picked by Alaric the Twice-Dead for their attention to detail and their willingness to do whatever it takes to keep Nokt safe.

The Mayor’s Gate is the northern of the three, and it is named for its proximity to the Mayor’s Mansion. This gate bears the likeness of Draven upon each tower, carved into the towers themselves and forty feet high.

The Market Gate is the eastern of the three gates, but it is no closer to Market Square than either of the other gates. This is just what it has always been called.

The Wizard’s Gate has come to be called this since the construction of Cyrus’ Tower, just under one hundred feet down the street into Old Town Nokt (and clearly visible from the Gate). Prior to this renaming, it was called the Tradewinds Gate, as ships traveling up to Nokt from Greathaven would come upon a strong southern wind – and this gate faces south.
