A Visitor's Guide to Nokt: Old Town: The Fat Ninja

In Old Town Nokt, there is no dining establishment with a better reputation than that of The Fat Ninja. Reservations are required, and the wait is usually about four days (though certain city members always seem to be able to get a table when they stop by, of course). As an affluent dining spot in Nokt, fine dress is required and the crème de la crème of Nokt’s upper crust can usually be found here.

Constructed of stone overlaid with the finest in green marble and built right on the edge of Market Square, The Fat Ninja might appear as a temple to a god of wealth, not the fine dining establishment it really is. It has windows that are gilded with gold instead of lead, tables of rare and exceedingly expensive rare woods, and a stained glass skylight that even kings would marvel at. All of this finery is protected by several Invisible Stalkers, bound into service by The Fat Ninja’s builder in times long past.

The Fat Ninja has an extensive cellar system for storing imported foods and wines, and there are rumors that the cellars may be even larger than most suspect, turning into tunnels and, eventually, connecting with the sewers and secret smuggler’s passages beneath Nokt. If this is true, none have ventured far enough below The Fat Ninja to find out – and if they have, they were never heard from again.

Currently owned and operated by Nilliam Lars, The Fat Ninja has been in business since well before Draven’s disappearance prior to the Great Illithid War. Nilliam and his wife Merna seem to be on their feet and ready to receive their guests almost no matter the time of day – for The Fat Ninja never closes. Their secret is that they have matching Rings of Sustenance, and each only require four hours of sleep a night to be fully rested.
