A Visitor's Guide to Nokt: Old Town: Market Square

Nokt’s central Market Square is a daily bustle of activity, and just about any item listed in the Player’s Handbook can be found for sale here, as well as a number of more exotic (though non-magical) items. Wares for sale can vary from day to day as vendors come and go, though everyone who sells in the Market Square is selling good, quality items – or else they would not be selling in Market Square, as vendors are required to obtain a writ from the Nokt Commerce Organization (cost: 1gp and inspection of the goods for sale by a qualified appraiser).

Busy day and night, the Market Square is lit by magic so that business may be conducted without hindrance. Anyone caught stealing in or around Market Square is severely punished; for even the lowest of trinkets, a thief can expect to be fined up to ten gold pieces, or spend a week in jail (if the thief does not have that kind of cash). To this end, members of the Town Guard can be seen patrolling this area, overtly conspicuous in their red dragon-styled armor.
