A Visitor's Guide to Nokt: Old Town: General Description
Old Town Nokt is the original settlement, and, as the name implies, the oldest section of the town. Built on the shores of the ocean, Old Town makes use of the original sewer system (which is in ever-increasing danger of becoming overloaded, as the city continues to expand), and contains the city’s grain reserves. With close streets and crowded walkways, Old Town consists almost entirely of stone construction – from the cobblestone streets to the solidly-constructed buildings, Old Town is nothing if not sturdy.
Despite this relative crampedness, Old Town is still generally regarded as the most important and influential section of Nokt. Many of the city’s cultural centerpieces are here, and Old Town is the only part of Nokt that is encircled with a thick stone wall – the other ring walls of town are all of various builds of wood.
