A Visitor's Guide to Nokt: Old Farm Ring: General Description

The Old Farm Ring consists primarily of large plots of land that, prior to the Great Illithid War, were the primary farmlands for the city of Nokt. Since the end of the war, however, population booms have resulted in the overworking of the soil that was once so rich, driving these formerly prosperous farmsteads almost into poverty and disrepair.

As the lands became played out, additional, newer parcels were being doled out farther from town – and several of the original farmers, who had been here for years, packed up and moved to these new farmsteads, leaving behind their old homes and lands. As the farmers migrated outward, so too were war refugees migrating inward – and many of them landed in the Old Farm Ring, building communes and slums on the former farmlands. The most ambitious project currently taking place in the Old Farm Ring is The New Market (detailed below), followed by Probay’s House of Welcome (also detailed below).
