A Visitor's Guide to Nokt: MidTown: The Magic Emporium

Probably best known as Kieran the Perturbed’s old shop, The Magic Emporium is a small used magic item and spell supply store. Just barely able to turn a profit in the wake of the much more popular The Vulgar Unicorn, The Magic Emporium cannot afford to stock any of the more expensive magic items that Kieran is able to provide.

That said, The Magic Emporium functions more like a pawn shop than a custom item store; most magic items with a “list price” of under 10,000 gold pieces can be found here, though they will be used, banged up, and in otherwise “less than new” condition.

Despite this reputation as “the next best magic shop in town,” The Magic Emporium is the choice for those who need to discard of a magic item quickly and quietly. The owner of the shop, Al’a’fonz, is more than happy to take an item off someone’s hands – at typically one-third of the price listed in the DMG, no questions asked. Al (as his friends call him) has no qualms taking these items and putting them out on his shelves for sale at slightly less than full “list” price. A man has to make a living, after all!
