A Visitor's Guide to Nokt: MidTown: General Description

Occupying the next “ring” out, as it were, MidTown Nokt is bordered on one side by a thick stone wall encircling Old Town, and a tall wooden palisade that demarks the start of the Old Farm Zone. Easily twice the size of Old Town, MidTown wraps around it like a snake wraps its prey, and is, on average, five hundred feet from the stone outer wall of Old Town to the wooden palisade wall that separates MidTown from the Old Farm Ring.

Buildings in MidTown tend to be a little more spacious than those in Old Town, as MidTown was built during a time of relative peace and prosperity, which led up to the start of the Great Illithid War. The two largest buildings in all of Nokt are technically located in MidTown – the Mayor’s Mansion, and the Non-Denominational Temple, The Church of the Open Arms – each a veritable fortress unto themselves, including their own stone walls separating them from the rest of MidTown.

Just as Old Town has three gates leading through its walls, so too does MidTown – gates to the north, east, and south. These gates are normally kept open at all times, and are staffed by a small squad of well-equipped and vigilant guards.

MidTown is where most of the newly-affluent in Nokt have made their homes; though their businesses may be in Old Town (if they are lucky), most cannot afford to live there, too.
